The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 90 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
The New York Islanders season has come to a close. It’s been a few days since the Isles season came to an end and I’m beginning to become okay with the idea that their season came to a close in the second round.
Just remember, it took the Islanders 23 years for them to get out of the first round and they did it with such ease this year. It sparked the new era of Islanders hockey.
Obviously, the Carolina series didn’t go that well, so we’ll chat about what went wrong in the series for the Islanders. Additionally, we’ll talk about some individual performances in the playoffs.
The Isles have a bunch of UFA’s on their team. Did their playoff performance help or hurt their chances in free agency, and who is likely to stick around?
Lastly, we’ll go over the season and talk about things we like and things we didn’t like about this season. There will be more positive than negative but we still have some things we want to vent about.
Here’s what to expect from episode 90:
Topics
What went wrong in Carolina?
The Islanders got swept in four games but it was closer than the scoresheets indicate (in the first two games at least). We’ll get into why Carlina was able to come away with four straight wins.
UFA Playoff Performances
The Isles have their fair share of UFA’s on the roster. We’ll go over their individual playoff performances and if it helped or hindered their cause.
