The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 93 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

It was a productive week for the New York Islanders since we last talked. Lou Lamoriello locked up one of the team’s pending UFA’s before he hit free agency. Brock Nelson is now under contract for another six years.

After a career year, Brock received a six-year $36 million ($6 million AAV) deal. Is this good value for Nelson or did the Islanders overpay for his services?

For the second year in a row, Noah Dobson won the Memorial Cup. Dobson was the first player to win it with two different teams since 1982. Yeah, this kid seems pretty special and might be with the Islanders sooner than we think.

On the Anders Lee front, apparently he is looking for seven years and they would like to go five years. Which side of the two should cave or will they end up meeting in the middle here?

Lastly, we wanted to show Thomas Greiss some love. He was nearly as good as Robin Lehner this year but Lehner is getting more of the discussion. Greiss deserves it too.

Here’s what to expect from episode 93:

Topics

Brock Nelson contract

Brock Nelson got himself a nice six-year deal. We’ll discuss if we think the value is fair and what this means for the Islanders in free agency.

Noah Dobson

Is Dobson a lucky charm on these memorial cup teams? We know it’s the Q, but he’s put up stupid numbers in the playoffs with 29 points (8 goals, 21 assists) in 20 games. He might be in New York quicker than expected.

Anders Lee negotiations

The Islanders and Anders Lee seem to be off on the number of years he is going to get. Lee wants seven while the Islanders are looking for a five-year deal. Who budges?

Thomas Greiss season grade

While Robin Lehner stole most of the spotlight, Thomas Greiss was nearly just as good. We’ll show some love to Greiss as well.
