The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 119 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

After falling short in regulation to the Ducks on Monday night, the New York Islanders 17 game point streak has come to an end. It was a valiant run but we all knew it was eventually going to come to a close.

We’ll start this week by talking about the games and what it meant for the Islanders to go on a 15-0-2 run before finally dropping one in regulation.

One of the more surprising things has been the Islanders offense. Excluding the last two games, the Islanders were on an insane run of offense. Over the 17 game point streak, they averaged 3.5 goals per night.

Lou Lamoriello has done a good job getting a lot out of guys who don’t cost all too much when looking at the cap hit. It’s not going to last forever, so how can he maximize this?

Here’s what to expect from episode 119:

Topics

Games

We’ll briefly talk about the games from this past week and what the biggest storylines are from the last seven days.

17 game point streak

We’ll talk about our biggest takeaways from the 17 game point streak and how important it is for this club to get out to such a big cushion.

Offense is rolling

Yes, one goal in the last two games is bad but this team averaged 3.5 goals over their point streak. If they can average over 3 goals a game they will be just fine.

Bargain Bin Islanders

Lou Lamoriello has gotten a lot out of guys who are on cheap deals. That’s going to change drastically in just a few months.

Quiz

Mitch will pick someone from the 2019 draft class to quiz me on. It usually goes not so great for me.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
