The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 123 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Since the last time we spoke, the New York Islanders played three games. They are 1-1-1 over that time but with back to back duds at home, it’s hard not to be slightly frustrated with the team as of late.
We’ll start this week’s show by talking about these games, and giving you the context for what went on in the past week.
Then, we’ll get into Josh Ho-Sang. Yes, Ho-Sang is back in the AHL after swallowing his pride and asking to come back. He put up a point in the one game he played and also triggered a lot of people, we’ll break it down.
Andrew Ladd returned to the big club, and we’ll break down where he fits in best. Can he actually help the Isles third line or will he just be another plug?
Finally, what happened to the defense? The Isles have given up a ton of goals recently is that on the defense or is it a system issue.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 123:
We’ll talk about each game briefly, giving you the context of the episode
Josh Ho-Sang is back
He’s a lightning rod topic, of course, we’re going to talk about him. Ho-Sang is back so what does that mean for him and the Sound Tigers.
Ladd returned to the Islanders in a limited role. We’ll get into why he’s an upgrade over some guys who are getting ice time.
Where’s the defense?
The Islanders’ defense has been downright bad recently. We’ll try to figure out what has gone wrong for that unit.
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 23 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
