The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 124 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Since the last time we spoke, the New York Islanders have three games under their belt. One was an ugly loss in Chicago followed by back to back wins to close out 2019. Now, in 2020 we’ll get you caught up on the context of the week.
First, we’ll go over the games briefly and talk about the Isles struggles defensively and the recent spark from the bottom six that was so desperately needed.
It’s become pretty clear that the Islanders need another scorer. Too many guys aren’t contributing right now and they could use an extra piece to the forward group. We’ll also take a look at where they rank in terms of five on five.
In the AHL, Kieffer Bellows literally can’t stop scoring goals. He has 12 in the last 13 games and is playing like a man possessed. Should he get the call-up?
Finally, we’ll recap 2019 and talk about the year that was for the Islanders. The good, the bad, but mostly the good.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 124:
