For the first time in his NHL career, Michael Dal Colle went back to back games with points for the New York Islanders in last night’s win.

It took 63 career games over three seasons but Michael Dal Colle finally has picked up points in back to back games for the New York Islanders. Against Colorado, the Islanders only netted one goal in their win.

It was an Anders Lee goal that served as the game-winner. On that goal, you had MDC picking up a secondary assist on it. Then last night, on the Islanders’ goal from Tom Kuhnhackl that tied it up late you had Dal Colle come away with a primary assist.

Michael Dal Colle, offensive catalyst, who would’ve thunk it. Gus Dal Colle must be getting ready to unblock me to talk all the smack in the world if he keeps this up.

With the Isles third line being a black hole of sorts in terms of offense, or lack thereof, I will take any kind of production right now. While I still believe that Kieffer Bellows is a better option on that lineup I’m happy that MDC is giving the Isles something.

Don’t hold your breath but maybe, just maybe MDC figured out this whole third line thing…Nah, probably not.
