The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 125 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

Since the last time we spoke, the New York Islanders are 2-2. In three out of the four games, they scored one goal or less so you’re going to have to excuse us as both Mitch and I are still worried about the Islanders offense.

The defense has seemed to figure itself out, as we expected, but the offense is still an issue. That’s my biggest takeaway from the last four games, that’s how we will start off the show.

We’ll get into the big blow that was losing Adam Pelech to a season-ending injury. If you told me 14 months ago that losing Pelech would be devastating for this team I would’ve been confused, yet here we are in 2020 with no Pelech and a slight issue on the blue line.

With the Isles recent slide, we want to do a check-in. Are we worried or not worried? Mitch and I will answer that question and get into why.

Despite back to back wins there are still issues in the top-six. Who is having these issues and what can we do?

Here’s what to expect from episode 125:

Topics

Games

The Isles are 2-2 over their last four but have only scored six goals in the last four games. We’ll briefly discuss each game and the context of them.

Adam Pelech injury

Adam Pelech is done for the season. What does this mean for the team, Noah Dobson, and does Lou Lamoriello land another d-man?

Heat check: December/January slide

Worried or not worried? That’s the question of the day. We’ll try to breakdown whether or not it’s time to panic for the Islanders.

Top-six issues

We’ll go through each player in the top-six and discuss what’s been the issue with them and how we can get it turned around.

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 25 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
