The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 128 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Okay, I got my break from the New York Islanders and I have the itch again. Yes, the Islanders and fans too needed a break but I think it’s fair to say that enough is enough and that we want to see the team back on the ice. I’m ready to get hurt again.
There were no games to talk about so Mitch and I will get into the All-Star game and what we thought about it. Unfortunately, we’re both rathered washed up so it didn’t really appeal to us, except for Green Day.
We’ll also take a look at point paces at the All-Star break and what each Islander is on pace for and if we need more or the same from that player going forward.
Mat Barzal spoke about his infamous benching in the third period. We’ll talk about his answer and if Barry Trotz was right to bench his best forward.
We’ll also take a gander at Arthur Staple’s trade bait board and if he’s missing anyone on his list.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 128:
Topics
All-Star Game
Is the format okay or are we just too old to appreciate the All-Star Game? Also, we’ll get into the skills competition and Mathew Barzal putting on a clinic.
Player Pace
We’ll look at paces at the All-Star break. Was it what we expected and should we expect more than what they are giving us?
Barzal benching
Reaction to Barzal’s comments on the benching and whether or not Trotz was justified in his decision to bench Barzy.
Trade Bait List
I know, I know, another week another trade topic. We can’t help it! This time we look at Staple’s list and see what we think of the options.
Quiz
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 28 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
Social
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
