Islanders Super Bowl Style Prop Bets For Remainder Of Season

It’s the Super Bowl, which means the gambling world gets even crazier than it normally is. What if there were prop bets for the Islanders this year?

If you’ve followed along for a while, it’s no secret that in addition to our passion for the Islanders, Mitch and I also enjoy gambling. Since it’s Super Bowl Sunday I decided to combine my two favorite things in this world.

I’m a football fan so I watch the game for the actual game. I don’t care so much for the commercials or the half time show, it doesn’t really move the needle enough for me.

What does add a little extra fun is all the prop bets during the Super Bowl. You can bet on things as simple as what color is the Gatorade going to be that gets dumped on the coach to if Pat Mahomes’ TikTok famous brother makes any videos today.

So what I wanted to do was come up with some Islanders themed props for the rest of the season. Here are some questions and my answers to each one of the props

Do the Islanders make the playoffs? (Yes or No)

Yes

After the 17 game point streak, you would’ve thought this was a sure thing. Now, in a tight Metro Division and the Isles slide, the playoffs are no guarantee. I would still bet on them to make the playoffs though.

Does Anders Lee Hit 30 goals? (O/U 29.5)

Under 29.5

Anders Lee is on pace for 26 goals, while I think he’ll heat up a little down the stretch I don’t think the Lee hits 30 goals in the Barry Trotz system. He seems destined for 28.

Which goalie starts Game 1 of the playoffs?

Semyon Varlamov

Both goalies have been inconsistent this year. Despite having the better numbers right now, I think the Islanders will end up giving the reigns back over to Varly who probably has the higher ceiling of the goalies.

How many times does Butch Goring say “toy department”? (O/U 32)

Over

32 is an average of one per game, I’d have to imagine Butch working in the toy department at least another 40 times the rest of the season.

How many points to the Islanders finish with? (O/U 104.5)

Under

The Islanders are currently on pace for 105 points, with their slide I expect that number to continue to come down. Give me 98-102 for the Islanders this year.

Does Lou Lamoriello make a trade?

No

At this point, I’ll believe it when I see it and I haven’t seen it since July 3, 2018. Yes, he should make a trade but I wouldn’t bet on him making one.
