The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 130 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

Since we last talked, we have a ton of games to get through for the New York Islanders. In the midst of a tough schedule run, they are currently 3-1 this week and the goals are beginning to pile up.

In the three wins, the Islanders have 15 goals. All around they’ve been much better after the All-Star Break, as expected.

After four games played at the NHL level we want to take a look at Kieffer Bellows. There’s been two really solid games out of the gate and two average to slightly unnoticeable games from Bellows in the other two.

Since the Islanders made the switch with the owners, they’ve become a much more desirable franchise. They aren’t on as many no-trade lists which means they are more likely to acquire a free agent and/or acquire someone in a trade.

Also, last night Casey Cizikas suffered an injury that should keep him out between three and four weeks. They’ve called up Cole Bardreau in the meantime.

Here’s what you can expect from episode 130:

Topics

Games

We have four games to get into briefly at the start of the show. We’ll talk about the Isles success since the break.

Bellows Thoughts

He’s played in four games and has been scratched for one. Has he reached our expectations or is there more to Bellows’ game that we haven’t seen?

Desirability of the franchise

The Isles are no longer the team that nobody wants to play for. Why is that and who is to thank for that?

Cizikas injury

Are we confident in Cole Bardreau and how big of a loss is this for the Islanders?

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 30 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.

Socal

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
