The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 131 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

It’s the Eyes on Isles Podcast on a Thursday! With the New York Islanders playing last night we decided to push it back for a day. Unfortunately for the Islanders, their road trip went about as well as the three goalie system from the Garth Snow era.

Over four games in Nashville, Vegas, Arizona, and Colorado the Isles mustered up two goals. As you’d imagine, it was an 0-4 road trip.

This past week, the Islanders made a trade for the first time since July 3, 2018. Lou Lamoriello acquired Andy Greene from the New Jersey Devils to help sure up the blue line. It was necessary but obviously the Isles need more.

This brings us to the next topic, the trade deadline. With the deadline four days out and this being our last podcast before the deadline we will go over our expectations for Deadline Day 2020.

Here’s what to expect from episode 131:

Topics

Games

0-4 on the road trip and only two goals. You can imagine the positive things we have to say about this team.

Andy Greene trade

What did the Islanders give up and do we think the Islanders overpaid for a rental d-man with veteran experience?

Trade Deadline Expectations

With the deadline rapidly approaching we will give our final thoughts and expectations for what the Islanders should do.

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 31 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
