The New York Islanders may be receiving some great news tomorrow for the playoffs and next season regarding the Nassau Coliseum.

The New York Islanders have a big day ahead of them tomorrow. First before the game, they will be retiring Butch Goring’s 91 into the rafters. Then, they will face off against the best team in the NHL.

But tomorrow before the game, they also may receiving some great news about potential playoff games and next season’s home games at the Coliseum.

According to reports, Governor Cuomo is expected to come to the Coliseum tomorrow to announce that the Islanders will be hosting all playoff games and all games next year at the Coliseum!

This comes as great news for the blue and orange faithful. The Islanders will finally have one home for the playoffs and one home all of next year. The split between the Coliseum and Barclays Center was certainly a unique and unorthodox one.

Most people thought the same scenario was going to happen for this playoffs: First round on Long Island then every round after that in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.

But this does not seem to be the case! Unlike last year, any and all rounds will take place at the Coliseum which is a much better environment for both the players and the fans as well.

Let’s hope the reports are true and the Isles can call the Coliseum home for the playoffs and all of next year!
