In these unprecedented times, New York Islanders fans continue to find a way to support those on the front lines with the Heros for Heroes initiative.

On Friday afternoon, Heros for Heroes initiative was launched. The initiative is a collaboration between Yes Men Outfitters and Blue Line Deli. Both are Long Island companies who share a passion for the New York Islanders.

The Heros for Heroes initiative is a way to support healthcare workers like doctors and nurses who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. By buying a hand towel on Yes Men’s website for $5, 100 percent of the profits go to pay to feed a healthcare worker with food from Blue Line Deli.

Printed on the hand towels is a simple message: If you know the Rangers suck wash your hands. Perfection.

And within an hour Islanders fans had bought

150 in just 20 minutes

. And it didn’t stop.

Big Effort

Sales of the towels went live at noon on Friday. Within three hours fans had bought over 600 and raised over $3,000 to provide doctors and nurses at Long Islands Winthrop Hospital with some delicious eats from Blue Line Deli.

That’s incredible.

At this time, we need to band together to help those on the front lines. Providing them with a nice meal is an incredible gesture of appreciation to those putting an incredible shift in to help those infected with this virus that’s plaguing thousands in the New York area and around the world.

The work done by health care workers during this pandemic has been truly heroic. It’s often a thankless profession so anytime we can step up and do something to remind them that their work is appreciated is worth it.

By buying up these hand towels Islanders fans are showing their generous side. Well done to Yes Men. Well done to Blue Line Deli. And of course, well done to you for buying the towels and a meal for doctors and nurses on the front line.
