With the coronavirus approaching its peak, New York Islanders netminder, Thomas Greiss reached out through social media to offer help.
Here in New York, it’s been a struggle as the coronavirus numbers continue to rise. Nobody knows when this will finally subside, but right now all we can do is keep our distance and remember that we’re all in this together.
Thomas Greiss of the New York Islanders took that to the next level on Saturday offering a message on his social media page.
"“If you are struggling and running out of food, toilet paper or other items, please don’t go to sleep with an empty stomach or worry about doing without. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed. Just send me a private message. We might not have it, but will be more than happy to share whatever food or supplies we have. We can work out the details with no judgment or human contact. Let’s talk.We are all in this together…Be kind to one another. This is temporary and will get through this”"
Clearly these are some unprecedented times but to see Thomas go above and beyond like that really warms your heart. He’s not only a good player for the Islanders but a good person as well which makes it so much easier to root for him.
As Islander fans, we’re lucky to have such an easy team to root for. From top to bottom they are full of selfless people who dug their roots into the community despite never having any connection to Long Island before playing here.
If you’re reading this and struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Thomas Greiss. There is no shame in asking for help, as he says we are all in this together.

It’s sad to say but sometimes it takes times like these for us to come together, and it’s truly a beautiful thing to see so many people going all out for strangers in need.
