The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 138 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Week four! I hope you guys are staying safe and healthy during this time and practicing your social distancing. We’re going to try to keep you entertained by talking some New York Islanders hockey and your mind off of things in episode 138 dropping later today.
This week, we found out Anatoli Golyshev plans on coming to the Islanders in 2021. The former fourth-round pick hasn’t expressed much interest in coming over from the KHL but he has recently changed his tune and even started looking for a house.
We’ll also take a look at the future of the blueline. There are some tradable pieces in that d-core and we want to get into what the plan is with Noah Dobson.
Barry Trotz spoke this week, and we found out some juicy tidbits from him and why the Islanders were struggling down the stretch of the season. Trotz also admitted that he prefers coaching stars (who can blame him).
Here’s what you can expect from episode 138:
Golyshev says that he wants to come over to the Islanders in 2021. Where does he fit and what could we expect from him?
Is Nick Leddy trade bait? Can Johnny Boychuk be moved? What happens with Noah Dobson? We’ll answer all these questions and more.
Barry Trotz interview
Breaking down his interview and going over key points like stars, overcoaching, and relying too much on the fourth line.
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 38 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
