The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 141 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
I’ve lost track. How long have we been in the Q at this point? Anyway, despite there not being any live sports in over a month, we still have a bunch to talk about this week in New York Islanders land.
First, the NHL has a new plan to get the season to come back. They are proposing Intra-divisional play to close out the season before getting into a playoff tournament. We’ll break down how realistic that is and what would make sense for the NHL.
Also, we want to take a look at how Josh Bailey bloomed late into his career and if there is anyone else on the roster who could do that.
The Islanders also added another former NCAA captain to the fold, Adam Brubacher. Brubacher played at RIT and we’ll get into who he is and what he adds to the system.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 141:
Topics
NHL’s plan to return
The NHL is planning on returning in some capacity. We’ll discuss the latest plan that included intra-divisional play before the playoffs start.
Josh Bailey Late Bloomer
How rare is it for someone to find their game at 27 and is there anybody else we can see that happening to?
Adam Brubacher signed
The Islanders signed Adam Brubacher from RTI. He’s a d-man that will likely be a depth player in the AHL.
Quiz
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 38 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
Social
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
