In our latest New York Islanders podcast, we go over the newest plan to start up the 2019-20 NHL season amongst other things.
For our 141st New York Islanders podcast we spent a significant amount of time discussing a new plan to re-start the 2019-20 NHL season. This one has a few twists and turns, but the best part occurs if the league has to go right into the playoffs.
Under this new “popular” plan within the NHL, if they have to go right back into the playoffs only the top six teams within the division would make the cut. That means the Islanders (ranked sixth in the Metro) would make it but not the Rangers (ranked seventh in the Metro).
Already, that plan sounds great. But Matt and I discuss the various permutations of this plan and what it means for the New York Islanders.

What Else Do We Talk About?
- How rare is it for a player to enter his peak at age 27 like Josh Bailey? Is there a reason that Josh Bailey finally became the player the Isles drafted in the first round of the 2008 draft? can anyone else on the Isles roster follow the same arch?
- The Islanders have made a signing. Just not the one we’ve all been waiting for. The Isles signed RIT senior Adam Brubacher to an AHL contract. What does that mean for the Sound Tigers?
- In our social segment of the podcast, we discuss why cereal before milk is the only way to eat cereal. Doing milk before cereal is absolutely ridiculous.
