The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 142 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
We’ve officially made it to eight weeks in the Q! Definitely didn’t think we’d be in here this long, but nonetheless we are here to talk some New York Islanders hockey with you in Episode 142 of our lovely podcast.
For starters, we’ll touch on the Linus Soderstrom situation. He doesn’t seem to be too happy here with the lack of playing time and may look to play back in Europe. Mitch and I have some strong feelings on the subject.
Speaking of goalies, Ilya Sorokin hasn’t signed yet. We’ll go over why there’s no need to panic and why there’s a very good reason that Sorokin hasn’t put pen to paper.
Also, Mark Scheifele spoke very highly of Mathew Barzal, saying he can lead the league in scoring. We’ll breakdown the comments and discuss our take on Barzal and being a player who can lead the league in scoring.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 142:
Topics
Linus Soderstrom
After four games in North America, he might look to go back to his home country to continue his playing career.
Ilya Sorokin
Just because Sorokin hasn’t signed doesn’t mean he isn’t coming. There’s a very good reason why Sorokin hasn’t done anything just yet.
Mathew Barzal
Mark Scheifele says Mat Barzal can lead the league in scoring. Is that really believable?
Quiz
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 42 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
Social
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
