The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 157 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

Well, unfortunately, we won’t be talking about the New York Islanders advancing. Last night the Isles lost Game 4 3-2, so they carry a 3-1 series lead into Game 5. We’ll be diving deep into this series.

For the first 10 periods, the Islanders have been solid, real solid. That’s what got them a 3-0 lead in the series, but in periods 11 and 12 of the series, they really struggled against the Capitals who were throwing the body around like crazy.

Also, the Islanders have been brutal on special teams. We’ll discuss the struggling power play and penalty kill. Here’s what you can expect from episode 157:

Topics

Washington Series

We’ll discuss what’s been good and what’s been bad for the Islanders in this series. Oh, and Barry Trotz. Lot’s of Barry Trotz talk.

Special Teams

The Islanders power play has scored just once in 19 chances. Essentially, they’re working with a five percent power play which isn’t ideal.

Anders Lee

Anders Lee came alive early in this series. We’ll discuss why we’re not too surprised with the resurgence of Anders Lee in this series.

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 57 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
