The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 160 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Since Game 2 was on a Wednesday, we had to push our recording day to Thursday to fit the New York Islanders schedule. Since the last time we talked, the Islanders advanced to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time in 27 years.
That in itself is still insane to type out into a sentence, not quite used to that just yet. Two games against the Tampa Bay Lightning have been played.
We’ll get into what went wrong in Game 1 for the Islanders and why the Lightning were able to win Game 2 as well. Here’s what you can expect from episode 160:
Advancing To The Conference Final
For the first time in 27 years, the Isles are in the ECF. What did it take to get here, how did Islanders fans survive, and much more.
Through two games the Isles are in a 2-0 hole. Game 1 was a nightmare, Game 2 was a crushing 2-1 defeat. We’ll discuss both and see if we can talk ourselves into the Islanders winning this series.
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 60 games as an Islander. As you’d expect it usually doesn’t go very well.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
