The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 161 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

After a dramatic double-overtime win, the New York Islanders season is still alive. We’re here for some Isles therapy this week as we will update you on the Conference Final and talk about what we need to see in Game 6 and hopefully beyond.

Additionally, the Isles lost a key player for the remainder of the season. Casey Cizikas, the do-it-all fourth-line center, left the bubble with an apparent eye injury that is going to need a procedure to fix.

We received a pleasant surprise as well with Lou Lamoriello being named GM of the year. We’ll plead our case for Lamoriello on why he is a deserving recipient of the award.

Here’s what to expect from episode 161:

Topics

Still alive

We’ll discuss the series and dissect what the Isles have to do in order to keep the season alive on Thursday night,

Losing Cizikas

This one really stings. Yes, he’s a fourth-line center but that doesn’t diminish his importance to what this team is all about. They’re worse without him on the ice.

Lamoriello GM of the year

There was some controversy with this decision but I think you can make the case. We’ll discuss his impact on the team over his two-year stint.

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 61 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
