The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 162 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Well, it’s over. It was a fun run, including a Eastern Conference Final appearance, the Islanders first since 1993 but their run came to an end last Thursday. On today’s podcast, we’ll get into reflecting on the season.
The Isles were called frauds, but they proved to be the exact opposite of that with their improbable run through the Panthers, Capitals, and Flyers. We’ll also get into our thoughts on what the Islanders need to do for next year’s roster.
Mitch and I also want to debate the Islanders’ “window” of opportunity. Are the Isles just opening it or are they in desperate need to win now? Here’s what you can expect from episode 162:
Topics
Takeaways from the 2020 season
We’ll get into the Islanders not being frauds, what we learned from Adam Pelech, the trade market, and what to expect the Isles to try to do this offseason as they push forward to 2020-2021.
Is the future bright or is the window closing?
Mitch and I will also be debating the idea the Islanders are in the middle of their window. Instead, we’ll get into why it’s just begun to open right now.
Quiz
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 62 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.
