Islanders Podcast Preview: Devon Toews Trade & Depth Signings
The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 165 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.
Well, now we have some things to talk about. The Islanders elected to move Devon Toews in a trade and twitter had itself a meltdown. We’ll kick off episode 165 by talking about the trade heard around the world and if it was actually bad.
As a result, Nick Leddy will be asked to move back into the top-four. He should be able to handle the role just fine and we’ll get into what the plan is for the rest of the d-core.
The Isles also made some other depth moves this week. We’ll talk about the re-signings for the AHL and the likely addition of Corey Schneider and what that means for both Bridgeport and the Islanders.
Lastly, Elliotte Friedman had an interesting nugget in his 31 thoughts article. Apparently, the Isles asked the league to look into the Maple Leafs for tampering with the John Tavares situation. As we know, the Leafs were not charged.
Here’s what to expect from episode 165:
