The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 167 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

Another week is in the books and we’re back to talk some New York Islanders hockey. On episode 167, we’ll get into the farm system and update you on who is doing what and where, and what the future holds for them.

Next up is arbitration, the Islanders and Josh Ho-Sang settled. Is Ryan Pulock next? What about the second buyout wind, can the Isles utilize the buyout this time around if they can’t move anyone?

Devon Toews signed a massive contract in Colorado. We’ll discuss the fallout of the deal and why Lou Lamoriello couldn’t afford to sign Toews at that price point.

Here’s what to expect from episode 167:

Topics

Down on the farm

An update on the prospects and who is doing what all around the world. Mitch has been keeping tabs on these guys on his Twitter page if you want to follow along.

Arbitration

Josh Ho-Sang avoided arbitration, will Pulock do the same? Also, there’s a second buyout coming. Will the Isles be able to do anything with it or will they continue to look to move someone via trade?

Toews contract

Devon Toews signed a four-year deal with an AAV of $4.1 million. We’ll get into why the Islanders couldn’t give Toews that kind of contract.

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 67 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
