The Eyes on Isles Podcast returns for episode number 172 as Matt and Mitch will discuss all things New York Islanders on and off the ice.

We’ve made it to December! With only one month to go in this godforsaken year that is 2020, we have a few more Islanders podcasts to drop for you before we switch the calendar over to the new year.

We’ll start by previewing this month, and how we can be getting a rather busy month of December with the NHL. Once the league figures out what they are doing for 2021, we’ll start to get some more movement.

Last week we talked about Johnny Boychuk, but next, we’ll have to get into who can be next. Andrew Ladd is a prime candidate for LTIR and they can make more cap room in other ways as well.

Mitch will also give us a down on the farm update with the prospects and who has been doing what. Here’s what to expect from episode 172:

Topics

Busy December

Once the plan is set in place for 2021, what can we expect to happen from the Islanders going forward?

Salary Cap after Boychuk

Can we pencil in Andrew Ladd to LTIR? What about Thomas Hickey, Leo Komarov, and others with dissatisfying cap hits.

Down on the Farm

Our weekly update on the prospects and how they are doing where they’re playing overseas.

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 72 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
