Lou Lamoriello confirmed today in his press conference that Cory Schneider, Matt Martin, and Andy Greene all signed. No new news on Mathew Barzal.

Today, Islanders General Manager, Lou Lamoriello spoke with the media leading up to Training Camp getting underway on Sunday. Unfortunately, there is no new news on Mathew Barzal from Lamoriello today.

Barzal is confirmed on Long Island but has yet to reach an agreement on his contract. Expect something to happen soon but as of right now, he is still without a deal.

Additionally, Lamoriello confirmed that Andy Greene, Matt Martin, and Cory Schneider have signed to contracts. The terms of these deals were not announced but all three players will be at training camp on Sunday.

Martin played 55 games for the Islanders last year in a fourth-line role. He also added 5 playoff goals for the Isles alongside his running mates Casey Cizikas and Cal Clutterbuck. Those three will stick together for at least one more season.

As for Greene, he was a trade deadline acquisition for Lamoriello. I don’t expect him to get big minutes at age 38 but he is absolutely the front-runner to be the third pair guy with Noah Dobson in 2021.

As for Schneider, we can fully anticipate him being the taxi squad goalie. He played just 13 games in the NHL last year with a .887 save percentage and 3.53 goals against average but Lou is obviously very familiar with Schneider during his time in Jersey.

Of these three guys, Martin and Greene are expected to be regulars for them in 2021 while Schneider just provides the necessary depth. These three moves have been anticipated for a while now but we finally have confirmation from Lou.

We will keep you updated when the terms of the deals are released. They should all be for minimal AAV with the big one, Barzal’s contract, still looming large.
