Three games into the season and we have three very different performances from the New York Islanders so far. On opening night, the team was playing at its peak. They fired on all cylinders and shutout the Rangers 4-0.
They followed that up with one of the worst performances of the Barry Trotz era with a 5-0 loss to New York just two days later. Then against Boston they put up a one-goal performance winning 1-0.
What is this team? That’s a question that we will try to breakdown on the podcast this week in episode 179. Also, we want to get into some ice times and what that means for the team.
For example, Noah Dobson, Kieffer Bellows, and Ross Johnston specifically. What does their ice time mean for each one of those three? Mitch also has some info on the prospects that he can break down for us.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 179:
We’ll go over what we noticed over the first three games of the season and what this team is. We have one great performance, one awful performance, and one okay performance.
Ice Times/Taxi Squad
We’ll take a look at some of these players’ ice time and what that means for the Islanders going forward with their lineup.
Down On The Farm
Mitch has an update for us on some of the prospects around the world. We’ll get into what that means for the Islanders system.
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 79 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
