The New York Islanders have a tough matchup tonight against one of their long-time divisional foes, the New Jersey Devils. Puck drop is set for shortly after 7:00 p.m. at the Nassau Coliseum and you can find a full preview for the game here.

The Devils have not had much success in the past years, but they have a resurgent team in the early stages of 2021. They had an extremely active offseason, while also letting their top prospects earn roles in the starting lineup.

New Jersey has played well and boasts a 2-0-1 record and tonight should be an extremely fun game to watch.

Coming into tonight’s game it looked like the Islanders were going to shake up their roster, with Michael Dal Colle close to returning from being on the injured reserve and Josh Bailey being placed on the NHL Covid list.

Barry Trotz would not give any hints regarding the New York Islanders lineup tonight.

At today’s pregame interview, Barry Trotz gave no information about who is available for tonight’s contest. Below are two of Trotz’s pregame quotes, courtesy of Andrew Gross (@AGrossNewsday on Twitter):

What Trotz said should come as no surprise to anyone. The Islanders head coach has never been a coach to reveal much lineup information prior to a game.

It is interesting to note that Trotz did not rule any lineup possibility for tonight. We could see both Dal Colle and Bailey in the lineup, we could see one or the other, or both may be unavailable.

Only time will tell who will be dressing for the Islanders tonight and we will know for certain in the next couple of hours when the Islanders roster is submitted.
