It was a tough go of it with our daily fantasy picks on Sunday. First, the Islanders surprised me by going with Ilya Sorokin in net instead of riding Semyon Varlamov. Then, just about every skater came out completely flat for the Isles.

Today, the Islanders are taking on the Capitals who are having their own issues due to COVID protocol. Is this the game we see the offense come back to life?

We’re due for a bounce-back tonight, and I have three guys for you if you plan on playing daily fantasy sports today.

Semyon Varlamov

DraftKings: $8,100 | Fanduel: $8,000

Okay, this time he should really play! Varlamov has been excellent so far this year posting a .988 save percentage and a 0.33 goals against average in his three starts this year. Plus, the Capitals are missing a ton of key guys.

Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Kuznetsov, Ilya Samsonov, and potentially Tom Wilson too will be out of the lineup. Good luck finding the back of the net tonight.

Noah Dobson

DraftKings: $3,800 | Fanduel: $3,500

Noah Dobson is #good. He has three points in his five games this year and is coming off a career-high of ice time with 22:22 against the Devils last time out. He’s yet to find the back of the net this year but  I think he gets one tonight.

His confidence is through the roof this year compared to last and you’re seeing that pay dividends in the offensive zone.

Anders Lee

DraftKings: $6,300 | Fanduel: $7,300

Last year against the Capitals, Anders Lee was phenomenal in the playoffs. He netted three goals in the series and seven total in the playoffs. With two goals on opening night, he’s been a little quiet in the games since.

With Anthony Beauvillier out and the third line in shambles, my money is on Anders Lee being the guy to find the back of the net.
