We’re approaching 24 hours since the game last night and I’m still fired up about it. The Islanders were stubborn in their veteran approach and it burned them, badly, last night as they lost 3-2 to Washington.

We’ll get into the last three games, what we learned from them, and vent a little bit about why we continue to see Ross Johnston and Leo Komarov get ice time when it’s very obvious that they can’t play on the third line.

As for the goalies, Semyon Varlamov has been excellent to start the year. Can he sustain that over the course of a full season? Also, Ilya Sorokin was much better but the offense didn’t do anything for him.

Lastly, Mitch has some updates from the farm system that we’re going to get into. Here’s what you can expect from episode 180:

Topics

Lineups

The Islanders are getting absolutely nothing out of any of their lines outside line one. What should they do to improve this issue?

The Goalies

Semyon Varlamov has been great and I’m not surprised. As for Ilya Sorokin, he bounced back but it still wasn’t enough for some fans. We’ll get into why they’re wrong.

Down On The Farm

Mitch has some updates on our prospects, and Josh Ho-Sang will play his first game over in Sweden.

Quiz

Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 80 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.
