Are the Islanders back? The team is currently riding an eight-game point streak and is 5-0-3 over that stretch. With 19 points in 15 games, the Isles are sitting in second place in the East Division trailing only the Boston Bruins.
In addition to the point streak, Anthony Beauvillier made his return and Oliver Wahlstrom stayed in the lineup over Leo Komarov. That’s huge for Wahlstrom, as his ice time continues to increase as does the scoring chances.
Also, Mitch will have us covered with a prospect report of his own this week. Here’s what you can expect from episode 183:
Topics
The point streak
The Islanders are on a heater right now and all four lines are looking solid. What’s the key to their success and is this a sustainable mark for the Isles right now?
Oliver Wahlstrom
Wahlstrom has 11 shots in his last four games. They’re going to start to fall and once they do watch out. Mitch and I have some thoughts on how he’s played and why it’s important that he’s still in the lineup.
Prospects
Mitch will have an exclusive update for us on the Islanders’ prospects from around the world.
Quiz
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 183 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.
