Saturday night was about as tough of a loss as you can have if you’re the New York Islanders. They played a near-perfect game but somehow lost 3-2. Hopefully tonight, they put in a similar effort with a different result.

The struggling Buffalo Sabres come to town to take on the Islanders who desperately need to get back into the win column after a pointless trip to Pittsburgh. They’re in last place in the East and just lost to the Isles a couple of times last week.

Here are three players to consider if you are playing daily fantasy today:

Brock Nelson

DraftKings: $4,500 | Fanduel: $4,900

Brock Nelson finally got his first 5v5 goal last time out and it looks like he’s beginning to heat up. He has three goals in his last four games and the reunion of Beauvillier – Nelson – Bailey looked good in their debut back.

Keep riding the hot streak with Nelson, plus since he’s under $5,000 that’s decent value on someone who is going to get somewhere around 17 minutes of ice time for the Isles today.

Nick Leddy

DraftKings: $3,700 | Fanduel: $3,900

Leddy has quietly had a solid season for the Islanders so far this year. He has nine points in 17 games, putting him on pace for over 40 in a full 82 game season. He has points in three of the last four games and I figure that continues against a down Buffalo team.

With just one goal you figured that number would come up as well, the Islanders d unit only has three goals on the season as a group. He’s my dark horse pick for a goal scorer today.

Oliver Wahlstrom

DraftKings: $2,500 | Fanduel: $3,000

I’m back on the Oliver Wahlstrom train. The kid is so close to breaking out, you can see it every night with him. Last time out he had two shots on goal and a couple of glorious chances in just 10:14 of ice time.

That’s the impressive part. Wahlstrom is getting his looks in just 10 or 11 minutes of ice time. His chances are going to start falling eventually, and I want to be on the right side of history when it happens.
