Islanders Podcast Preview: Michael Dal Colle To IR and Semyon Varlamov’s Play

In practice over the weekend, the New York Islanders lost Michael Dal Colle. He was placed on IR with an undisclosed injury and has missed two games now due to it. Unfortunately, this comes at a particularly tough time for MDC.

He was coming into a nice little role on line three. In his absence, we’ll discuss what the Islanders have done with the lineup and what they could potentially do in the future if they wanted to change it.

Also, Semyon Varlamov has been excellent for the Islanders. He’s 8-4-2 with a .927 save percentage and a 2.06 goals against average. Is his play in net sustainable and Mitch has a theory on why this can continue going forward.

Lastly, Mitch has some prospect updates as he finally got to speak with Robin Salo. Here’s what you can expect from episode 184:
