If I’m being completely honest, I almost feel bad for the Buffalo Sabres. In the first two games of this three-game set, the Islanders outscored Buffalo 10-4 and have been downright dominant at points against this team.

It also doesn’t help when your $9 million player has been completely MIA for the entirety of the season. Anyway, the Islanders are back in action this afternoon to take on Buffalo again.

Here are three players you should keep an eye on if you’re playing daily fantasy today:

Mathew Barzal

DraftKings: $6,400 | Fanduel: $6,700

I am still genuinely in shock over the Mathew Barzal goal from yesterday. That kid is something special. Coming off a 24 point fantasy performance, I’m going to continue to ride Barzal today with the expectation that the production continues.

Barzy has four points in his last three games after a bit of a cold stretch. Usually, when he gets going it lasts for a stretch of games.

Ilya Sorokin

DraftKings: $8,200 | Fanduel: $8.400

After Semyon Varlamov played in yesterday’s matinee, it’s safe to assume that Ilya Sorokin will get the nod today. He had just an .889 save percentage against Buffalo on Thursday but I won’t expect that to repeat itself today.

In his last three games, he’s stopped 56 of 58 shots for a .967 save percentage. Expect Sorokin to bounce back today.

JG Pageau

DraftKings: $5,100 | Fanduel: $4,500

The third line had been carrying the Islanders for a while but they’ve been a little quiet the last two games against Buffalo. JG Pageau had an assist in yesterday’s win but I think he gets back in the goal column as well today.

With nine goals on the season, Pageau is on pace for 21 this year and over a full 82 game season, he’d be on pace for 31.
