Last week, Kieffer Bellows suffered an injury against the New Jersey Devils. It didn’t look pretty but there was hope that he’d be able to come back and play at some point this season. Unfortunately, the Islanders captain won’t return this season.
It was announced that he tore his ACL and will be missing the remainder of the season. On this week’s podcast, we’ll get into the impact on the team and who can fill in for Lee in the meantime.
Also, we’re going to talk some optimism. The era of unbridled optimism is upon us and we want to discuss it. Also, Mitch will have his updates on the Islanders’ prospects from around the world.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 187:
Anders Lee injury
This is obviously a huge blow to the team. We’ll discuss the impact it has and how Kieffer Bellows has done so far filling in for him.
Why the Lou Lamoriello and Barry Trotz era has been so good and how it’s gotten a ton of optimism out of us so far.
Down on the Farm
Mitch will update us on some prospect news and how we can see one of them make their way over from the KHL.
Mitch is going to quiz me on someone who played 186 games in an Islanders sweater. This guessing game rarely goes well.
In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
