Islanders Podcast Preview: Washington Series Preview & Line Changes
By Matt O'Leary
Coming off a dominant 6-1 performance against the New York Rangers, the Islanders have a huge series coming up against the Washington Capitals. Both teams are tied up top with 62 points and have a three-game set this weekend.
With 10 games remaining, these three games could decide the division. So far this year, the Islanders are 2-3 against them. Additionally, we’ll get into the line combinations and changes that Barry Trotz has made.
Last night specifically, we saw some success with Beauvillier – Nelson – Bailey as Josh Bailey returned to the lineup. Also, Leo Komarov on the fourth line looked solid.
Lastly, Mitch Anderson will get into the prospect report. This week he has some info on the Sound Tigers we want to get into.
Here’s what you can expect from episode 192:
The Capitals and Islanders both have 62 points. This series will be massive when deciding the final standings, so Mitch and I will preview the three games coming up later this week.
Barry Trotz has juggled the lines a bunch trying to get something going, so we’ll discuss the decisions and what has worked vs what hasn’t.
