With three games left, the Islanders are in action against the New Jersey Devils as they fight for playoff positioning. So far, the Isles hold a 5-1 record against New Jersey this year, and hope for that success to continue.

Going in to play today, the Islanders sit in fourth just one point back of Boston and five points back of Pittsburgh and Washington.

Heading into action for today, here are my three players to watch for the Isles:

Semyon Varlamov

DraftKings: $8,000 | Fanduel: $8,200

In his last 10 starts, Semyon Varlamov has a .946 save percentage and a 1.61 goals against average. He’s been phenomenal all year with a .930 save percentage and a 2.02 goals against but it’s been on another level recently.

Against New Jersey this year, he’s 3-0 with a .955 save percentage and just four goals allowed. Good luck tonight, Devils.

Kyle Palmieri

DraftKings: $3,400 | Fanduel: $4,700

Kyle Palmieri has stunk as a New York Islander. In 14 games he has just one goal and three points to his name. Well, against his former team I’m predicting that Palmieri will get one to go since he’s playing up top with Mat Barzal.

According to Arthur Staple, Barry Trotz has both Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri on the top line. I think I speak for Islanders fans when I say “FINALLY”.

Mathew Barzal

DraftKings: $5,300 |  Fanduel: $6,500

Mat Barzal is returning from his off day and should slot back up on the top line. In six games so far he has five points (1 goal, 4 assists) against Jersey. With the playoffs in the near future, expect Barzal to start turning it on.

He has two goals in his last three games and that should be only the beginning for him. The Isles desperately need their offense to come to life tonight.
