The New York Islanders have officially announced their preseason schedule for the 2021-2022 season. It was confirmed that by the team website that they will be playing six games before the start of the season.

The schedule is as followed:

Sun September 26 – @ Rangers (7:00 pm)

Tues September 28 – @ Flyers (7:00 pm)

Sat Oct 2 – vs  Devils (2:00 pm)

Tues Oct 5 – vs Flyers (7:00 pm)

Thurs Oct 7 – @ Devils (7:00 pm)

Sat Oct 9 – vs Rangers (7:00 pm)

For the home games, the Islanders will be playing at Webster Bank Arena, in Bridgeport, CT. That’s where the Bridgeport Sound Tigers play and the reason the games will take place there is due to UBS Arena construction.

The arena won’t be ready in time for the start of the season, which is part of the reason why they start the year on a 13 game road trip. Sure, that certainly won’t be easy for the team but as a positive spin zone, 41 of the remaining 69 games will be on home ice.

For the preseason, Islanders season ticket holders will get an exclusive 2-day window beginning tomorrow at 10 am to purchase tickets. Then, Bridgeport Sound Tigers season ticket holders have the next crack at tickets on Thursday.

Webster Bank Arena holds 10,000 people so it won’t be the usual capacity limits that fans were used to at the Nassau Coliseum or Barclays Center.

No date at this time has been announced for training camp but it’s likely safe to assume at some point in early-mid September that players will begin making their way back to Long Island.
