We’re back with episode number 219 of the Eyes on Isles podcast. This week, we have three games to catch you up on and the Islanders looked much better going 2-0-1 over that time since we last spoke on Wednesday.

We’ll start with Ilya Sorokin who has been unreal, posting back-to-back shutouts over the weekend against Arizona and Vegas before the Isles shut it down for a bit. Also, Semyon Varlamov was activated off of injured reserve so we’ll talk about his highly anticipated return.

Also this week, we got a real head-scratcher of an extension. No seriously, I think Lou Lamoriello broke my brain. Ross Johnston got a four-year $4.4 million deal. He has 87 career games and has signed two four-year deals.

Anyway, here’s what you can expect from episode 219:

Topics

Sorokin/Varlamov

To start the show, we’ll chat about Ilya Sorokin’s play from this past week and then get into the long-awaited return of Semyon Varlamov.

Ross Johnston contract

Ross Johnston will be an Islander for an additional four years. Lou Lamoriello clearly loves this guy and wanted to make sure that they don’t lose him. Again, he’s played less than 90 career games and has two four-year contracts under his belt.

Down on the Farm

Mitch will give us updates on Isles prospects from all over.

Quiz

On the quiz, Mitch will pick a random player in Islanders history and I have to try to guess who that player is based on five clues. It’s usually a blast.

Social

In the social segment, we’ll answer questions and talk about the biggest stuff from Isles Twitter this past week.
