The NY Islanders prospects have been nothing to write home about, but tomorrow, we'll have an opportunity to see three of the organization's top prospects face off against one another in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Since 2015, the Friendship Four has been a mid-season tournament held at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Four teams compete for the title, similar to the famed Beanpot played among the four major colleges in the Boston area.
This season, Boston University, where Cole Eiserman and Kamil Bednarik play, and Notre Dame University, home of Danny Nelson traveled to the Emerald Isle and will meet in the final of the Friendship Four.
Isles prospects to play in Friendship Four finals
Boston University defeated Merrimack College 6-2 in the first of two semi-final games, with Bednarik recording two assists. Notre Dame bested Harvard in the later game, with Nelson tallying an assist on a power play goal as the Fighting Irish took the victory 4-2.
Eiserman and Nelson are two of the Isles' top prospects, both selected as the Isles' top picks in the last two drafts. Eiserman leads the Terriers in points (13) and goals (9) through the first 12 games of his freshman campaign, as one of the most impressive freshmen in the country.
Nelson has six goals for Notre Dame, tied for the team lead, and has added three assists.
With the way the Isles have been playing lately, a look at three of their top prospects could be a great look into the future of the team, and give fans something to cheer for.
Tomorrow's game can be seen at 2:00 pm on ESPN+.
