4. Emil Heineman or Max Shabanov Break Out as a Top-Six Winger
While Schaefer captures headlines, the Isles’ quiet breakout will come up front. My fourth bold prediction: either Emil Heineman or Max Shabanov establishes himself as a top-six winger, finishing the year with 15–20 goals and at least 45 points.
Heineman’s game has NHL readiness written all over it. As Anthony Duclair said, “He’s a horse. He can play anywhere with anyone.” His strength, shot, and willingness to go to hard areas make him a natural fit beside Barzal or Horvat.

Shabanov, meanwhile, brings a different weapon — vision and patience. His ability to slow down play, find seams, and generate passes through traffic could give the Islanders a new offensive dimension once he adjusts to NHL pace.
