He’s the former NY Islanders prospect that nobody can seem to get away from. Josh Ho-Sang, the former first-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, is back in hockey, signing to play with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Ho-Sang, 29, hasn’t laced up his skates this year after taking a similar path back into professional hockey last season. On March 13, 2024, the former Islander signed with the Everblades, ultimately helping the organization win the Kelly Cup for the third consecutive year.

Now, Ho-Sang is back with the Everblades, looking to make it four straight Kelly Cup’s.

Through two games this season, Ho-Sang has recorded one assist, with five games remaining before the playoffs.

The Everblades have secured their place in the postseason with 98 points through 68 games,  battling for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with the South Carolina Stingrays, currently with 101 points.

Ho-Sang last played for the Islanders during the 2019-20 season. He played in 53 games over his four seasons with the organization, registering seven goals and 17 assists.

Despite the potential Ho-Sang exhibited in the OHL with the Niagara IceDogs, he was his own worst enemy on Long Island.

In 2015, Ho-Sang showed up late to his first day of Islanders training camp and was subsequently returned to Niagara.

After leaving the Islanders organization, he bounced around the AHL before making stops in Sweden and the KHL.

Ho-Sang appears to have found himself a comfortable landing spot on the Gulf Coast of Florida, even though that seems to only be for postseason runs. The Everblades will now look to match the Islanders' four championships with four straight of their own.
