If you’ve stepped into Isles Lab at UBS Arena over the past few seasons — whether for a new jersey, a vintage, but new design, or to soak in the energy after a big win — chances are you’ve seen Bobby Marsala. For the last 15 years, Bobby has been a beloved and vital part of the New York Islanders organization, most recently serving as the Senior Director of Retail Operations.
His passion, positivity, and work ethic have defined the Isles Lab experience since UBS Arena opened its doors. He’s helped fans find the perfect gear, celebrated every win, and made everyone who walked through the door feel they were part of the extended team.
Now, it’s Isles Nation's turn to be there for Bobby and his family.
Bobby has been fighting stage 4 cancer with leptomeningeal disease — a rare and aggressive condition that has changed everything. Last November, during the team's Hockey Fights Cancer Night, he was brought onto the ice, wearing a purple and white jersey and took part in the ceremonial puck drop, making many Islanders fans aware of his battle for the first time.
For tonight's #HockeyFightsCancer Night pres. by @NorthwellHealth ceremonial puck drop, we are joined by Bobby Marsala, a 15-year employee of the #Isles who is the Senior Director of Retail Operations at Isles Lab.

Despite an incredible fight, palliative care has stepped in. Bobby is no longer able to work, and his wife is now facing the heavy burden of an uncertain future while raising their two young children.
The Islanders family — players, staff, and fans alike — know that community is everything. As an extension of that, a fundraiser has been launched to support the Marsala family during this unimaginable time. Every donation helps with medical costs, daily living expenses, and giving this beautiful family the time together they deserve, without the added weight of financial stress.
Please donate if you can, or share Bobby’s story to spread the word to show Bobby and his family that his Islanders family is here for them. You can donate via GoFundMe.
If you’re an #isles fan and have shopped at the Pro Shop or at Isles Lab on game days, you know who Bobby is. Any donation helps him and his family at this time.https://t.co/kXll40OszM pic.twitter.com/IOkwpQiDEy
