And then there were two.
After weeks of submissions, bracket voting and plenty of debate among New York Islanders fans, the team’s third jersey contest has officially reached its final round.
The Navy Lighthouse and Navy “Islanders” concepts advanced Monday, eliminating the Navy Fisherman and Navy “NY” designs and setting up one last vote to determine which look moves forward as the Islanders’ third jersey for the 2027-28 season.
The lighthouse had little trouble advancing, defeating the fisherman with 68.7% of the vote compared with 31.3%.
The other matchup could not have been much closer.

The Navy “Islanders” jersey edged the Navy “NY” concept by a 51.2% to 48.8% margin, earning its place in the final.
Mathew Barzal helped reveal the finalists on social media and offered his own preference along the way. Barzal said he favored the navy sweater with “Islanders” written across the chest, though he added that the players would be happy with either of the remaining designs.
That leaves fans with one final decision.
On one side is the lighthouse, a logo that has experienced a major resurgence throughout the contest after originally appearing as a shoulder patch during the late-1990s wave jersey era.
On the other is a more understated wordmark design that spells out “Islanders” across the front in a navy, orange and cream color scheme.
Round Three opens Aug. 18 at noon and runs through Aug. 20 at 5 p.m.
The winning concept will be announced in the days after voting closes.
Even then, the process will not be completely finished. The selected concept will move into a more extensive design phase as the Islanders develop the complete uniform kit ahead of its 2027-28 debut.
More than 80,000 submissions eventually became eight finalists.
Eight became four.
And now, only two remain.
