Post-Islanders career

His post-Islanders career featured him playing for four different organizations in five seasons. Spending most of his time in the AHL, where he put up very solid numbers, but unfortunately wasn't granted any other opportunities in the NHL, other than playing 22 games with the Calgary Flames across the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

For the 2023-24 season, which ultimately became Quine's last as an NHL hockey player, he took his talent overseas to Europe, signing a one-year deal with the Malmö Redhawks of the Swedish Hockey League. After posting 14 points in 28 games for the Redhawks and suffering from some injury trouble during the season, he decided to call it quits on playing hockey.

According to his LinkedIn page, Quine is now enjoying his life, post-hockey, working as a sales representative in commercial real estate in Canada.

Alan Quine will forever be an Islanders legend to me because of his massive playoff double overtime goal. In the little time that he spent on Long Island, he made a big impact on the fan base, proving that all it takes is one goal to grab the support of an entire fan base forever.
