For a player with so little NHL experience, there's nobody who has captured the attention of the NY Islanders fan base quite like Josh Ho-Sang. Despite playing only 53 games for the Islanders, with his last coming in 2019, Ho-Sang has taken to social media to let the world know he wants another chance to play for the organization.
Over the past 24 hours, the 30-year-old former first-round draft pick has posted photos of himself in Islanders gear, responding to a user who mentioned a comeback.
Ho-Sang eyeing a comeback?
"I don't really want to bug the Islanders; they did a lot for me," Ho-Sang said. "Honestly, I would just like the opportunity to try out for the East Coast team or Hamilton and help out the young guys."

Ho-Sang was released by the Islanders on September 30, 2019, for the purpose of being reassigned to the AHL. This came after he showed up late for training camp, with then-GM Lou Lamoriello sending the player home.
Since then, Ho-Sang has bounced around, spending time in Sweden, with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, Russia, and most recently, the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. There, he'd join the team during the final six games of the regular season, ultimately helping the organization capture the Kelly Cup.
But Ho-Sang hasn't played full-time hockey since the 2022-23 season with the Marlies. Outside of hockey, Ho-Sang has been working on his music career and was recently reposted by Juan Soto of the New York Mets after Ho-Sang mentioned him in a song.
The idea of a return to the organization seems far-fetched for Ho-Sang, but it's certainly something that the majority of fans would welcome if he were part of the Islanders in any form. A tryout wouldn't hurt, but it's a position Ho-Sang wouldn't be handed.
