Boston University opens the collegiate season as the youngest team in the nation. Last season Cole Eiserman mostly bounced between Bostons second and third line, while he opened up the year on the top line. With Eiserman being one of the veterans on this team, he will be one of the go to guys this year. Eiserman is on the left side with Sacha Boisvert (CHI) and Ryder Ritchie as his linemates.

Islander fans were extremely excited to see Cole Eiserman at Islanders development camp this summer and fans got to learn how much of a shooting threat he is. Eiserman weighed in at 200 pounds last season while he enters this season at 189 pounds. Everybody knows how much of a threat Eiserman is especially on the powerplay, but Eiserman has taken tremendous steps in his his all around game.
Boston opened up against Long Island University. In period one with just over 5 minutes into the first period BU was heading to their first powerplay. Owen McLaughlin won the faceoff to Cole Hutson, who takes 2 strides in, sees Eiserman wide open on the far wall. Eiserman one times the pass right into the back of the net which gave BU their first goal of the season, 4 seconds into the powerplay.
Period 2 opened up with BU having a 1-0 lead, and Eiserman's first shift of the period he skates the puck up through the neutral zone and fires a low shot on net for a save. Eiserman is a player who loves to shoot from anywhere on the ice. Later in the period Eiserman is fighting for a loose puck down low, and takes a highstick and draws a BU powerplay which eventually expired. Near the end of the period, Eiserman takes a hard hit from behind which sent BU to another powerplay, where Sacha Boisvert tapped one in to give BU a 2-1 lead after 2.
Period 3 started with BU and LIU trading goals but with just under 5 minutes to go in the 3rd, Eiserman was in a net front battle with the puck in the paint and was able to get a stick on the puck and muscle it to the back of the net for his second of the game.

Eiserman certainly impressed in the season opener 4-2 win for Boston University. He tallied two goals in different styles and drew multiple powerplay's for BU. Another game in the right direction for Cole Eiserman as the Islanders wait for him to develop.
