The New York Islanders have re-signed left winger Adam Beckman to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 at the NHL level, the team announced Wednesday. Beckman's 2024-25 season was cut five games short after a collision with an official led to a suspension.

Beckman, 24, returns after appearing in 12 games for Bridgeport last season, recording four goals and three assists. Beckman was drafted in the 3rd round (75th overall) by the Minnesota Wild in 2019 and has played 23 NHL games, all with the Wild, across three different seasons in his NHL career.

He started the 2024-25 season with Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils, where he registered 20 assists and 33 points through 43 appearances before he was traded by the Devils to the Isles in exchange for defenseman Dennis Cholowski at the trade deadline.

The signing comes months after Beckman served a 10-game suspension for an incident involving physical abuse of an official. The incident occurred in a late-season AHL game when Beckman made contact with a linesman. The AHL cited Rule 40.3 in its decision, which covers “deliberate physical force” without intent to injure. Beckman showed immediate concern for the official following the unfortunate incident. His suspension was reduced from 10 games to 8, and he has already served five games, meaning he'll miss the first three games of Bridgeport's season.

In 236 career AHL games, Beckman has scored 74 goals and 148 points and will be part of a Bridgeport team looking to create a new identity under head coach Rocky Thompson after a historically bad season, leading to it being a focal point for new General Manager and Executive Vice President Mathieu Darche during the off-season.
