After falling to the NY Islanders at No. 20 in the 2024 NHL Draft, Cole Eiserman set out to prove all the teams who passed on him wrong.

First, Eiserman took home a Gold Medal at the 2025 World Junior Championship, and now he is having a superb season at Boston University and is being recognized for his achievements, named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team.

The 18-year-old from Newburyport, MA, had 20 goals on the season - tied for fourth most in Hockey East, and is one of only five players in the conference to score at least 20 goals.

With his 20th tally of the season this weekend, Eiserman joined Jack Eichel, Macklin Celebrini, and Clayton Keller as the only Terriers to score 20 goals in the freshman season.

Entering the draft, Eiserman dropped from being a contender for the first overall pick to 20th overall. Mostly because of questions surrounding whether he had a “B” game when he wasn’t scoring goals.

But under Jay Pandolfo, someone who played under Lou Lamoriello, Eiserman has begun rounding out his game as evidenced by his game-sealing steal and score against rivals Boston College last month.

Questions have arisen as to whether Eiserman is ready to make the jump to the NHL next season or whether another year in college would be more beneficial.

BU heads into the Hockey East Tournament as the third-ranked team in Hockey East. The Terriers will have a bye into the quarterfinals and will face the winner of UMASS vs. Vermont at their home at Agganis on Saturday at 4:30 pm.
