NY Islanders ranked in the top half of most valuable NHL franchises

The NY Islanders have come a long way from the mid-1990s and early 2000s when they struggled to get fans inside an aging Nassau Coliseum.
Today, Sportico released their annual NHL valuations, with the Islanders finishing in the middle of the pack ranked 15th overall with a value of $1.68B - an improvement from 18th in 2023.
Where the Islanders top the league is their 49% value increase from last year, tied with the Dallas Stars.

A new state-of-the-art facility and the addition of The Park at UBS Arena and now the Belmont Park Village, have been some of the massive improvements around the area, which helped the organization secure the 2025 NHL All-Star Game.
Topping the list of most valuable franchises this season are the Toronto Maple Leafs coming in at $3.66B, increasing their value by over $1B from last season ($2.65B). The Leafs are followed by the New York Rangers ($3.25B), and the Montreal Canadiens (2.93B), who make up the top three for the second consecutive year.
Of the three teams that play in the New York Market, the Islanders trail both the Rangers and New Jersey Devils, who finished one spot ahead of the Islanders, valued at $1.7B.
The Utah Hockey Club, who relocated from Arizona, went from a bottom dwelling team in the desert to 28th overall ($1.2B) this season after heading north to Salt Lake City. Taking their spot in 32nd place are the Islanders Metro Division rivals, the Columbus Blue Jackets ($1.06B).
